Golf Putting Greens

Indoor and outdoor putting greens for your home, office or backyard. Shop portable putting mats, modular indoor/outdoor greens and large practice greens from PurePutt, Big Moss, Fiberbuilt, Tour Links, PuttOut and Explanar, including greens with chipping mats, adjustable breaks and simulator-ready layouts.

How to Choose a Putting Green

1. Size

Measure your space first, leaving room to stand and swing around the green. Narrow 3–4 ft wide greens fit hallways and offices and focus on straight putts and speed. Greens 6 ft wide and larger let you practice breaking putts from different angles and work better for more than one golfer.

2. Break

  • Adjustable slope: the PuttOut AirBreak uses pumps to raise and lower the base for hundreds of slope combinations and returns made putts automatically.
  • Removable contours: Big Moss greens like the Augusta V2 use Break Snakes to create breaks.
  • Flat greens are ideal for grooving start line and speed.

3. Indoor vs. Outdoor

Portable greens set up on carpet or hard floors. Indoor/outdoor greens, such as the Fiberbuilt 6' x 12' with its modular rubber foundation, can also go on a patio, garage floor or deck. Set them on something solid and level.

4. Green Speed and Cups

Green speed is measured on the Stimpmeter. For example, Fiberbuilt putting greens roll at about 9 and the Explanar Putting Mat at 10.5. Real metal cups give you authentic targets and sound.

Golf Putting Greens FAQs

What size putting green should I get?

Measure your space and leave room to stand around the green. A 3–4 ft wide green suits straight-putt and speed practice in small spaces, while 6 ft wide and larger lets you practice breaking putts from different angles.

Can I use an indoor putting green outside?

Only if it is rated for indoor/outdoor use. Indoor/outdoor greens should be set on a solid, level surface such as a concrete slab, garage floor, compacted gravel or a sturdy deck.

Can I practice breaking putts at home?

Yes. Adjustable greens like the PuttOut AirBreak let you raise and lower the base to create slopes, and Big Moss greens use Break Snakes to create contours.

What is a Stimpmeter rating?

It measures how fast a green rolls. Higher numbers mean faster greens. Fiberbuilt greens roll at about 9 and the Explanar Putting Mat at 10.5.
